OUTSIDECON
Happy 34th OutsideCon in 2022 - September 9th-11th!
Outside is held the the weekend after Labor Day in September .
It is held at Montgomery Bell State Park, where Ernest went to Camp. It is hosted by Robert Embler of Fort Campbell and many of his long time friends. There is music, revelry, sports, camping (for those who want to), and food.  Arrival is anytime Friday after 3 pm and everyone must be out by noon on Sunday.  Since this is held in a State Park there is also water play available, hiking, and nature in abundance.

Our event features the following elements:
  • An Archery Competition (begins at 3pm-ish Saturday at the shooting range)
  • A Fishing Competition (begins Friday, usually around 3 or 4 pm and ends Saturday at sundown)
  • Parties
    • The Frank and Millie Party (aka Xerpes {Alien} Party, will be held on Friday night; just follow the green glow!
    • The Return of the Dutchman: After a 6 year sojourn Dutch and Mickey will be returning to OutsideCon  to host the Pavilion festivities for the weekend. They will be doing The Late Night Double Feature Picture Show on Friday night, beginning at dusk. The movies, at this time, will be two all time favorites, “ Guardians of the Galaxy”  and the 1981 Animated Head Trip “Heavy Metal”. Both with fantastic sound tracks.
Saturday night will feature the usual recorded music until the Molly Maguires and guests  show up to take over the entertainment for the evening.  These festivities will begin after the Saturday evening meal.
    • Every Convention has a dead-dog Party. For those who actually help Robert dismantle (aka clean up) the boss does dinner. But you may have to wait until 8 pm on Sunday night.
  • Gaming - when offered not by enthusiastic individuals, also brought to you by our friends at Hypericon.net.  Feel free to bring your own games too and come to the main lodge, you're sure to find some friends to join you.
  • Possible other events chosen at will by our leadership
  • The Annual Picture - Everyone will gather outside the main lodge Saturday evening before the big feast.  Photo time will be posted throughout the campground so all can attend.

FOOD!! Kitchen operated by Janet Hopkins with aid from LibertyCon's KC Charland as well as all the staff and helpers who give out of the goodness of their heart. Your $ partially goes to all the food of the weekend. Enjoy!
HOW MUCH TO ATTEND THIS FUN FILLED WEEKEND?
Payment for cabin dwellers is $40 per person in advance of the event and $45 at the door.  Cost is  $20 for per person for tent dwellers. Kids under 13 are free.
**Please note - The park now has a rule of no smoking in any of the buildings. So please take it outside. Also, please pick up your BUTTs. No littering.**

BEFORE YOU LEAVE: ALL Campers are expected to make sure their on-site camps are put back EXACTLY as it was (mattresses propped, windows re-latched, floors cleaned up). We like this camp and wish to continue the tradition but can only do so if we ALL contribute to its upkeep.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Robert is not getting any younger (sorry Peter Pan) and needs someone to check all bathrooms, clean trash from all cabins, reset the main lodge tables/benches, etc.  See Marc Michael to sign the volunteer sign up sheet.

We will also need to mop all bathrooms and the kitchen. Bob has enough trouble trying to get all his stuff offsite. He tows the food, fresh towels and all utensils, the cleaning supplies, the toilet paper, the soaps, the matts so you don't slip in the shower, not to mention curtains,  as well as replacement bulbs and other items if they have not been done before we take up residence. He does a LOT so we all can have a good time. So please help, even if just a little.
