OUTSIDECON
Outside is usually always held the the weekend after Labor Day of September (CANCELLED FOR 2020).  This year It has been cancelled due to administrative changes at the State Park level and Covid-19 issues. The following 2 years it will still be as usual, assuming Covid gets worked out. It is held at Montgomery Bell State Park, where Ernest went to Camp. It is hosted by Robert Embler of Fort Campbell and many of his long time friends. There is music, revelry, sports, camping (for those who want to), and food thanks to one friend in particular and her spouse, without whom it would not have that homey touch.

Since this is held in a State Park there is also water play available, hiking, and nature in abundance.

Our event features the following elements:
  • An Archery Competition (begins at 3pm-ish Saturday at the shooting range)
  • A Fishing Competition (begins at Friday, usually around 3 or 4 pm and ends Saturday at sundown)
  • Late Night Double Feature Picture Show - Presented by www.hallowcon.com/HallowCon. JoeDog and Donna have taken the reins and not much has changed about the pavillion. Movies will be two that fit well with Both OutsideCon and HallowCon. (2018 will feature the Dr. Who 50th Anniversary Special; "Unspecialized" Star Wars and Earnest Goes to Camp-Weather permitting will have seats available on the lawn)
  • Parties
    • The Frank and Millie Party (aka Xerpes {Alien} Party, Party in support of their bid to have World Con held in Dublin for 2019-20 (Which they won), You look good in Green, baby-Party)
    • Black Wolf Tavern:  Held in the Pavillion and hosted by HallowCon. The Molly Maguires Tavern Party (music, usually Irish, but with Marc and team it can range from country, rock and roll, and movie legacy) with occasional guest star appearances by the Wolfhounds.
    • Every Convention has a dead-dog Party. For those who actually help Robert dismantle (aka clean up) the boss does dinner. But you may have to wait until 8 pm on Sunday night.
  • Gaming (when offered not by enthusiastic individuals, also brought to you by our friends at Hypericon.net.
  • Possible other events chosen at will by our leadership
  • The Annual Picture - Held possibly this year on Saturday due to our shortened fun.

AND Fooooood! Kitchen operated by Janet Hopkins with aid from LibertyCon's KC Charland as well as all the staff and helpers who give out of the goodness of their heart. Your $ partially goes to all the food of the weekend. Enjoy!
Payment up til the event is $35 per person/cabin, at the event door opening (aka 1st day) is $45 for per person/cabins, $35 for per person/tents. Kids under 13 are free.  Prepay for 2019 is $35/attendee. Tenters are $25 for 2019 up until Chattacon or Last weekend of January.
**Please note - The park now has a rule of no smoking in any of the buildings. So please take it outside. Also, please pick up your BUTTs. No littering.**

Add to that for next year and years going forward there will be a Sunday help clean up sheet. Robert is not getting any younger (sorry Peter Pan) and needs someone to check all bathrooms, clean trash from all cabins. Additionally ALL Campers are expected to make sure their on-site camps are put back EXACTLY as it was (mattresses propped, windows re-latched, floors cleaned up). We like this camp and wish to continue the tradition but can only do so if we ALL contribute to its upkeep.

We will also need to mop all bathrooms and the kitchen. Bob has enough trouble trying to get all his stuff offsite, He tows the food, fresh towels and all utensils, the cleaning supplies, the toilet paper, the soaps, the matts so you don't slip in the shower as well as replacement bulbs and other items if they have not been done before we take up residence. He does a LOT so we all can have a good time. So please help, even if just a little.
